2016-2024: The total finish % faces a downward trend – 2020 is to be treated cautiously due to LT500 which was considerably easier.
Both the veterans finisher % as well as the novices finisher % face a downward trend as well. Looking especially at the last three editions where the trends solidify (this should go hand-in-hand with moving to the after-pandemic start location in Ferrières) it seems that the novices stabilize their finish % while the veterans finish % are in free fall.

Update 2025: Easier weather conditions in 2025 led to a dramatic increase of the finisher %, both on novice and veterans end of things. This concludes the Legends Trail as we all know it – the new and longer 350 km edition starting with the edition in February 2026 will certainly change things so lets look forward to some epic races as well as new and fresh numbers ;).

With 2025 being the ninth and last edition of Legends Trail as we know it there is one more set of data to be added.

Will the runners finally stop the downward trend of the finish rate (and disappoint the RD)?

Will the veterans be able to beat the novices once more?

Will some of those 6 individuals with 100% finish rate and the most attempts (4) be able to expand to 5 finishes w/o DNF?
