What does the Legends Trail means to me (highs/lows, meaning stories, lessons learned) – just your words you want to say about the LT: When starting my first LT250 back in 2020 I was literally scared. Heard a lot of different stories about this event from friends – but all of them were certain in one point: there will be these moments in which you have to dig deeper than in most of the othere races there are. And right they were. The world seem to collapse – esp. in my first ever third night without sleep. This was beyond everything known. That finish line though – what a relieve. And the volunteers – almost like family. So I kept returning to LT in the following years. And I felt more and more safe and sound. And home. Its called (Legends) family for a reason. That does not mean the race has gotten any easier. It was a fight each and every year. But each and every year its a refreshing lesson about being humble, being level with yourself and being independent from weather/strain/tiredness – and just keep going.
How would you define ultra running/what does it mean to you to run ultra/when does ultra starts for you (certain moments/feeling/distances): For me ultra running starts when things start to turn sideways. May it be due to extreme strain, effort, tiredness – or weather conditions which slowly taking their tolls. As experience helps to delay things going sideways the distance until it gets really rough gets longer and longer. Typically the second night starts to bring some of the ultra effects, that means being in the race longer than 24h and beyond the 100 mile distance.
